In this case, a trusted ING advisor will contact you to verify the fraudulent nature of certain transactions. </p><p>We are your bank and have access to your accounts. We can block a transfer, an account or perform any operation required to protect your money if we suspect that you are a victim of fraud. <strong>You will never be asked to do anything yourself.</strong> If this is the case, you can be sure you are dealing with a fraudster. Unfortunately, some websites allow fraudsters to use platforms to steal the telephone details of others. This makes the fraudsters’ actions more credible, but the above signs should alert you. </p>"}},{"componentType":"sectionTitle","title":"Fraudsters want to convince you with plausible stories"},{"componentType":"paragraph","richBody":{"value":"<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Various techniques are used by fraudsters to convince you of the legitimacy of their call: </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p><ul><li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>They ask you to look up the caller ID number on the Internet to show you that they belong to the bank. But as we have seen, this is no proof. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>They give you information about yourself, from your account number to your bank balance, but again this information has been fraudulently misappropriated. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>They invite you to log on to your online bank to discover transactions that you were not aware of.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>…</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></li></ul><p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>In the latter cases, you may have been the victim of phishing and shared access codes to your online bank.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>"}},{"componentType":"sectionTitle","title":"Fraudsters ask you to transfer your money or give them control of your computer"},{"componentType":"paragraph","richBody":{"value":"<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>On their own, fraudsters are often unprepared. They will therefore do everything they can to trick you into making a money transfer or to take control of your computer.
