A large proportion of these are commercial vehicles (127,928), which are, incidentally, proving to be a powerful impetus behind the switch to electric driving. But what is the best way to finance a company car? A significant proportion of commercial vehicles – those registered by companies and self-employed individuals – are financed by a loan or leasing. For business owners, the choice between leasing or borrowing ultimately depends on whether you want to own the vehicle or not and who will be driving it. Essentially, there is no such thing as a good or bad financing method – it all depends on your particular expectations and preferences.\r\n\r\nHow do you choose the form of financing that best suits your company's situation?"},"backLink":{"textLink":{"url":"/en/business/financing","text":"Financing: leasing & credit"}},"date":"2025-12-04","readingTime":3},"flexZone":{"flexComponents":[{"componentType":"sectionTitle","title":"Option 1 for financing a company car: a car (or instalment) loan"},{"componentType":"paragraph","richBody":{"value":"
You can choose to finance a car, van or truck with an instalment loan. Although, as a VAT payer, you can later reclaim part of this VAT on your VAT return, we recommend that new entrepreneurs choose a lease formula. In that case, a financial lease could be an attractive option. With this form of financing, ING Lease finances the vehicle, while your company leases and depreciates the vehicle as if it owned it. The monthly lease payments are set out in a contract with a pre-set term, usually ranging from three to five years.
